The power within

Hundred Thousand powers

The Current & the three States

The inner power cultivated by the Hundred Thousand. Nameless and Style Assassins develop it through three States: Action, Meditative, and Emotional.

The Current

The inner power cultivated by the Hundred Thousand. Nameless and Style Assassins develop it through three States: Action, Meditative, and Emotional.

How it works — The Current

How it works

Their discipline draws from within, developing the human potential buried beneath ordinary limits. The three States express different aspects of that power; mastery takes training, experience, and control.

Follow the distinction

Magi channel the energy of the universe through themselves. The Hundred Thousand cultivate their inner power. Similar-looking feats can come from different practices.

Back to the guide ↑

Action State

The Current expressed through physical action: heightened strength, speed, precision, and combat movement.

How it works — Action State

From practice to mastery

The published lore describes a progression from Endless Flow to Relentless Flow. Black eyes mark the State, accompanied at advanced levels by a dark aura.

A practitioner

Allure’s profile identifies her as a master of the Action State, combining it with martial arts and gymnastics.

Back to the guide ↑

Meditative State

A State associated with healing, energy shields, telepathy, telekinesis, and the focused manipulation of matter.

How it works — Meditative State

From practice to mastery

The lore calls its progression the Infinite Veil and the Silent Horizon. White eyes mark the State. Abilities and control vary by practitioner; naming an ability does not make it universal.

Suez’s expression

Suez’s profile describes healing and regeneration, telepathic communication with Sparrow, limited energy shielding, and brief precognition. If overwhelmed, he can enter a deep healing trance or stasis.

Back to the guide ↑

Emotional State

Emotion becomes energy. The challenge is to wield that intensity without being consumed by it.

How it works — Emotional State

From storm to control

Flamesouled Storm describes the raw, volatile expression; Fireborn Serenity describes disciplined control. Red eyes and fiery energy distinguish this State.

The danger

Uncontrolled intensity can overwhelm the practitioner. Mastery means directing emotion, rather than simply producing more of it.

Back to the guide ↑

Quantum Armor & Bracers

Specialized armor and bracers turn control of matter into practical protection. Creating and repairing advanced gear requires Meditative skill.

How it works — Quantum Armor & Bracers

Different defenses

The lore describes quantum-enhanced UHMWPE suits, advanced Composite Metal Foam bracers, and molecularly strengthened carbon-steel bracers used by Nameless. Full suits are rare; not everyone carries the same equipment.

Where armor fails

Repeated impacts degrade protection, and an impact can still hurt without penetrating. The Children’s life-force attacks can bypass physical defenses. Rare bracers forged from enchanted weapons carry additional power—and the risk of being recognized.

The cosmic conduit

Magi powers

Magic & the Magi

Magi draw the energy of the universe through themselves, then form and direct it into spells.

Magic

Magi draw the energy of the universe through themselves, then form and direct it into spells.

How it works — Magic

A different source

Magic is channeled from beyond the practitioner. Training develops the ability to sense, admit, shape, and direct that flow.

Range and mastery

The lore includes elemental manipulation, healing, physical enhancement, and force-based effects. A Perfect Conduit represents extraordinary alignment and control, not the starting point of every Magus.

Summoning

Calling forth cosmic energy and shaping it into tangible power is a major achievement in the Magi’s discipline.

How it works — Summoning

The threshold

Concentration must remain unbroken even through pain. At the highest mastery, a Perfect Conduit can Summon without circles, rituals, or incantations.

Its signature

Plasma-like energy gathers around the hands and forearms, with colors associated with the Magus’s affinity and gemstone. Magi society regulates Summoning and treats its use as a serious responsibility.

The Crystal Bond

A Magus’s Crystal is a sentient companion and a keeper of experience, tied to a sacred rite of passage.

How it works — The Crystal Bond

Rite of the Crystal

The bond is a mutual resonance: the Crystal chooses its Magus. Gemstones are associated with roles within Magi society, including warriors, healers, keepers, and artists.

A lasting legacy

Crystals preserve experience and knowledge. The lore describes revered legacies held in Diamonds of Eternity, along with forbidden Crystals guarding dangerous knowledge. This sentience is distinct from an ordinary Blessed object, which has no consciousness.

Burning Magic

A destructive use of Magic that destabilizes the practitioner as a conduit.

How it works — Burning Magic

The cost

Burning puts severe strain on mind and body. The published lore associates it with mental instability, madness, and death.

The taboo

Magi society forbids it. Its danger is not simply stronger spellcasting: it threatens the stability of the person channeling the power.

The Black Flame

A rare, feared form of Magic whose use places a wielder in direct conflict with Magi law.

How it works — The Black Flame

Power and peril

The lore describes a power that can consume those attempting to harness it and cause catastrophic consequences.

Under Structure

The Magi condemn attempts to wield the Black Flame, treating its users as enemies of their order. Its exact mechanics remain a mystery in this introduction.

Conviction made tangible

Inordinately Blessed powers

Belief & Blessings

The Inordinately Blessed train conviction into deliberate influence over the world and their own bodies.

The Power of Belief

The Inordinately Blessed train conviction into deliberate influence over the world and their own bodies.

How it works — The Power of Belief

A discipline of acceptance

Belief can begin in religion, personal certainty, or an experience that breaks someone’s understanding of what is possible. A deity is not required. Deliberate control is stronger—and harder to develop—than acceptance alone.

Limits that move

Experience and expectation shape what a practitioner can accomplish, but the physical task still matters. Unexpected resistance can cause dangerous hesitation. No ultimate ceiling is known; previous limits have repeatedly been surpassed.

A distinct expression

Belief is the core of this practice. Abilities such as telekinesis can resemble feats of the Hundred Thousand, but the Blessed retain human-looking eyes. Each practitioner’s acceptance and experience shape their abilities.

Blessings

A Believer augments the energy surrounding an object’s creation, assigning it a function that can remain after its maker dies.

How it works — Blessings

Who can use one

An unbeliever can benefit from a weaker effect. Someone using another’s creation needs conscious intent to activate its highest power; its creator can use it instinctively. Protection during sleep or unawareness must be part of the original intent.

Age, damage, and fragments

An old object carries older energy; an old Blessing can be stronger still. Deterioration reduces how many uses remain, and using a fragile object can make it more brittle. Repair or replacement does not restore the original Blessing. Fragments retain only a smaller or weaker share of the original function.

No mind inside

Blessing an object does not give it consciousness. Undoing someone else’s work takes time, skill, and practice.

Hunger becomes a weapon

Blood Borne & Blood Lords powers

The Bloodlines

The Blood Borne and Blood Lords shape blood into weapons, armor, shields, and other constructs.

Blood Magic

The Blood Borne and Blood Lords shape blood into weapons, armor, shields, and other constructs.

How it works — Blood Magic

Blood Borne

Their approach favors fast adaptation and improvisation: a weapon or barrier formed in the moment. Volatile surges can trade stability for immediate power.

Blood Lords

Their approach emphasizes ritual, refined control, and the knowledge of their lineage. Ancestral rites such as Ascendant Blood reinforce that tradition.

The dependence

Blood sustains their strength, regeneration, and Magic. Deprivation weakens them. Greater power does not remove their dependence on feeding.

Back to the guide ↑

Bloodline Power Mimicry

By consuming the blood of powerful beings, Bloodline vampires can temporarily reproduce abilities beyond their usual repertoire.

How it works — Bloodline Power Mimicry

Control has a cost

Borrowed powers can bring the instincts of their source. Blood Lords cultivate control through prolonged specialization; Blood Borne favor opportunistic bursts. Amplification rites carry further risks of losing control.

A dangerous exception

The Children’s blood is forbidden to vampires because of its overwhelming psychic effects. It is not a safe shortcut to their abilities.

Life itself is power

Children powers

The Children

The Children feed on life force rather than blood. Absorbed energy sustains them and strengthens their physical and psychic abilities.

Life-Force Feeding

The Children feed on life force rather than blood. Absorbed energy sustains them and strengthens their physical and psychic abilities.

How it works — Life-Force Feeding

Power and residue

Feeding can leave psychic echoes: memories and emotions from their prey. Unbalanced intake risks overload and backlash, making control vital.

Ritual and survival

Controlled feeding differs from the raw taking of energy in battle. Some Children periodically hibernate to assimilate and stabilize their energies, leaving them dependent on protection.

Tasting & Psychic Bonds

Through Tasting, a Child samples a potential victim’s life energy and establishes a psychic link.

How it works — Tasting & Psychic Bonds

Reading the response

The pull reveals reactions such as fear, curiosity, attraction, or resistance. Through the resulting bond, a Child can return to influence a victim’s emotions and senses.

Restraint and danger

The Children’s code places restrictions on feeding and condemns loss of self-control. Their influence is predatory; a psychic bond should not be confused with trust.

Breathing True Life

A rare rite in which a Child grants another being the ability to draw life force.

How it works — Breathing True Life

An initiation

The dedicated ritual account describes careful selection, preparation, energy alignment, and a ceremony on Sacred Ground. It is a transfer of ability rather than an ordinary feeding.

After awakening

The recipient must learn to manage psychic residues and energy surges. Receiving the ability begins a new discipline; it does not confer effortless mastery.

Instinct takes form

Uruk & Darcs powers

Uruk & Darcs

The Uruk move between a human guise, wolf forms, and increasingly powerful hybrids as their control develops.

Uruk Transformations

The Uruk move between a human guise, wolf forms, and increasingly powerful hybrids as their control develops.

How it works — Uruk Transformations

The forms

Anthro-form is the human guise. Supralupine expresses the great wolf. Canimorph blends human and lupine traits. Alpha Canis is an advanced, commanding hybrid; Megalocanis is the colossal culmination described in the lore.

Power and endurance

Higher forms demand control and stamina. A list of forms describes the race’s potential, not a guarantee that every individual has mastered them.

Emotisync Bonding

Shared emotions and intentions let the Uruk coordinate as a pack without spoken commands.

How it works — Emotisync Bonding

The Alpha’s influence

Courage, fury, and resolve travel through the bond. The pack can respond together to danger and opportunity, drawing strength from shared purpose.

The shared risk

The same connection can carry instability. An Alpha’s uncontrolled rage can spread through the pack, sacrificing coordinated tactics to frenzy.

Darc Transformations

Darcs combine human intellect with feline instinct, transforming for stealth, agility, or overwhelming strength.

How it works — Darc Transformations

The forms

Anthro-form presents a human guise. Suprafelidae takes the form of a powerful great cat. Ailuris is a human-feline hybrid, and Apex Ailuris an advanced expression of it. The rare Titanthrope represents the highest transformation described in the lore.

Individual mastery

Forms and proficiency vary between Darcs. Transforming costs energy, so choosing when and how far to shift is part of their discipline.

Therianthrope Resilience

Tough hides, accelerated healing, natural weapons, and resistance to many magical attacks make these shapeshifters formidable.

How it works — Therianthrope Resilience

Recovery takes resources

Minor wounds heal rapidly; major injuries require more time and energy. Higher transformations can enhance recovery, but prolonged exertion risks exhaustion.

A vulnerability

Their defenses do not make them invulnerable. The published lore singles out Blood Magic as a threat capable of bypassing their usual resistance.

Each Self is different

Kollective powers

The Kollective

The Selves do not all possess the same abilities. Absorption and mimicry take different forms—and have different limits—for different individuals.

Absorption Among the Selves

The Selves do not all possess the same abilities. Absorption and mimicry take different forms—and have different limits—for different individuals.

How it works — Absorption Among the Selves

Individual expressions

Kali’s abilities include Magic and absorption. KopyKat can mimic nearby Selves’ Magic but can absorb only certain Selves. Kaprisha has powerful Magic without the ability to absorb other Selves.

Keep the distinction

The Kollective is not a unified mind or a common training path. A power documented for one Self should not automatically be assigned to another.
