A path within the Hundred Thousand
The Nameless
Warriors on a Shugyosha: tested in the world beyond the Stronghold, hunting the things that live in the shadows.
A journey with consequences
The Shugyosha is a transformative journey of trials on the path toward becoming a Style Assassin. Away from the Stronghold, a Nameless has considerable freedom to decide how to live, work, and confront danger.
Personal choices, ultimate allegiance
They can form alliances and rivalries, including with other Nameless, though the Children are excluded from such alliances. Conflicting contracts can bring two Nameless into violent opposition. Killing a fellow Nameless is a grave matter, and an order from the Stronghold still takes precedence over personal business.
The face of the hunt
Masks are their most consistent identifier in a hunt or fight, often accompanied by hoods and bracers. Espionage and avoiding detection can require moving through the world with a bare face.
