The Children
Moving among society’s elite, the Children wield psychic power and sustain themselves by draining human life force.
Power behind the surface
Their influence is not limited to open combat. Psychic ability, concealment, and long-established relationships let them act within a world that may never recognize the threat.
A family divided
Great power does not erase internal rivalry. Khamen, the Mother’s firstborn, resents Asagawa’s leadership and believes he deserves the place at the head of the Children.
Enemies of human protectors
Their need to feed on humans places them in direct opposition to the Blessed and the Hundred Thousand. The latter do not permit their Nameless to form alliances with the Children.
